Graced with three overlapping flower zones, and only 7km from Oudtshoorn, the 2000 hectare 4-star accredited DeZeekoe Guest Farm/Reserve is part of one of the world’s 17 “hot spots’.
Fifteen stylish rooms open onto cool verandas set in a lush indigenous garden. Just five-minutes’ drive from the main house are four secluded, amply equipped log cabins offering breathtaking views across the De Zeekoe Lake and surrounding mountains. Meticulous attention is given and all needs catered for.

Activities: on the reserve: Eco farm tours, biking, horse riding, sky-diving, self guided walk, canoeing, fishing, birding (162 species) . Spoil yourself to a treatment at our Beauty and Relaxation Zone.

Sunrise meerkat tours available daily. Interaction with these wild animals last for 2 – 3 hours. All activities are subject to weather. Join us for exquisite fares of seasonal, organic yield from our own gardens. Wine from our cellar compliments our inventive cuisine with a karoo twist. We cater for small functions & weddings.

The guest house and cabins are available on a Bed & Breakfast basis. Safe parking is available.

Our Cabins:
The cabins are a five minute drive from the main lodge and perfect for family accommodation or a romantic getaway. Each cabin has 2 bedrooms (inter leading ceilings), a bathroom, kitchenette and lounge with a lovely inside fireplace. Equipped with air- conditioning, fan, microwave, tea and coffee facilities. Light sleepers are warned that our bird life at the lake start with their morning chores at 5am. The deck overlooks the water surrounded by pictures views. This is a malaria free area. Water level may drop during the dry season (October to April).

Suites at the main house:
Fifteen air conditioned rooms, including five disabled friendly superior suites. All tastefully styled with soft textures and warm colours. Attention is given to detail, so every need is catered for. Private entrances, stunning views of the garden, Olifants River bed and mountains.

Dining

Enjoy a sundowner while watching the awesome sunset on the Karoo plains, after another day in Africa. Inventive and delicious, traditional cooking with a Karoo twist - we specialise in ostrich meat and venison that are complimented with wines from our own cellar. Lunch and dinners are available on request.

Most of our veggies, fruits and olives are fresh from our own gardens – totally organic! All our jams, tapenades and pesto’s are homemade. Local singers and musicians can be arranged to make your evening more romantic and memorable.

Weddings

The veranda of the old colonial style homestead of De Zeekoe offers an ideal setting for a wedding ceremony, complimented by overwhelming tranquility and natural beauty. We specialize in small intimate weddings, comfortably seating 60 people.

We can assist in arranging a wedding photographer, beautician and minister if requested. The staff at Zeekoe will go the extra mile to assure a perfect start to a new chapter in your lives together, making it a treasured memory to look back on.

De Zeekoe is a place to relax and feel inspired - an African farm and reserve on 2000 hectares. Here, away from it all, in a relaxed atmosphere with magnificent views of the Olifants River bed and Outeniqua Mountains, is an ideal place for business strategies and new developments to be brainstormed by you as leader and your team.

Teambuilding programmes can be arranged to suit your individual requirements from drumming to chocolate and wine tasting. We can seat 36 people Board Room style, 60 school room style and 80 cinema style. A data projector, flip chart, screen as well as 24 hour internet service is available.

MEERKAT TOURS:
De Zeekoe situated on 2000 ha of land, offers an unique in the world experience, to walk with wild meerkats. This conservation project on wild meerkats / suricates, part of the other "shy five", occur naturally in this Klein Karoo Valley. This is an unique attraction for guests who have watched the meerkat films over the last 12 years, with the BBC, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. Wild Meerkat tours can be booked at De Zeekoe Reserve.
