The 37 luxury rooms and suites are all air-conditioned and offer a truly idyllic and indulgent experience. The Plettenberg Hotel has two swimming pools, one of which is heated, and both visually flow into the ocean below.

Accommodation

The Beach House
The Beach House is situated next to the hotel’s main building. Decorated in soft creams and blues with bleached wooden floors, it makes the ideal private getaway, while still having access to all the main hotel facilities. The Beach House consists of two en-suite bedrooms, a large sitting room with fireplace, dining room and small service kitchen. The main bedroom leads onto a sundeck and private swimming pool, with spectacular views of the bay and mountains. The house is fully air-conditioned.

The Lookout Villa
Overlooking one of the world’s most beautiful bays, this African contemporary house enjoys a view of magical sunrises, whale breaching in the winter months and pods of dolphins rejoicing the whole year round. Gentle sandy and ocean colours filter through the house with a mix of textures and lighting that create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. A mix of dark stained floors and sisal carpeting are throughout the house.

The main bedroom boasts an incredible view and leads out onto the deck and private pool. Sheers and heavy curtains play on the window giving a romantic feel to the bedroom. Candle and roses are beside beds and in bathrooms adding to the ambience. Another room is done in duck egg toile with a mix of cane and light wood. High cane headboards, fitted night base covers, beautiful linen and appliqué cushions give the house a warm and luxurious feel.

The open plan lounge and dining room are on a split level. From here you can enjoy beautiful ocean views. The galley kitchen is well stocked and beautifully designed. The house is equipped with flat screen televisions and DVD players.

Premier Suites
These suites are superbly and individually decorated with varied views of the sea. Most of the Premier Suites have French doors and step out balconies. All of these suites have under floor heating and are air-conditioned.

The Suites at The Plettenberg have sea views and consist of a separate lounge and bedroom. All suites have under carpet heating and air-conditioning.

Carchele Beauty Spa

The Carchele spa is a sanctuary to relax and unwind in a serene atmosphere, with therapists who specialise in individual massage techniques and treatments. A personalized experience is offered to our clients, introducing a sense of care and nurturing. The therapeutic effects of plant extracts and tissue oils in the embalming treatments, will result in the body feeling replenished and the skin glowing.

A wide range of treatments are on offer including facials using top of the range Decleor products, manicures and pedicures with OPI to renew, re-energize and restore your hands and feet. The ozone bath therapy will detox the body while the steam room offers a relaxing retreat.

This restaurant embraces views of Formosa Bay that are unsurpassed along this stretch of the beautiful South African coast. The mood is relaxed, the décor stylish contemporary, and the food progressive South African, inspired by the Mediterranean. Sand is open for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. Breakfasts offer a sumptuous buffet of fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats, cereals and yoghurts, or a full cooked English breakfast of your choice.
